Craig Wins Vocal Award
As part of Brisbane's biennial Valley Jazz Festival, the 612ABC Vocal Award recognizes an outstanding recorded vocal performance. Many experienced and emerging Queensland jazz vocalists enter each year.

This year, Scat's Craig Burnett took out the prize with his beautiful recording of "When I Fall In Love" and an original tune "Soul Satisfaction".

Last Sunday, Australian jazz legend and patron of the festival Vince Jones presented the award at his Valley Jazz concert. In his understated, ultra-cool manner Vince told the audience, “I had a listen… he’s gonna be good.”
Vince joked that Craig would bump him off the stage in the future.

The award-winning performance can be heard on Scat's latest release "Wash Day Miracle".

Last Fancy Pants Ball!
Late Wednesday night, Scat and Easterfest announced on twitter that this will be the final year for the illustrious Fancy Pants Ball event at Easterfest.

Marking the end of an era in terrific trousers, both Dave Schenk (Easterfest) and Craig Burnett (Scat) agreed that it was a sad decision, but would be best to go out on a high note (we'll see if Craig can beat his previous record super C# high note). This also leaves the door open for other interesting possibilities for the snappy-dressed jazz-men in the future, so this is by no means an end to the fun and craziness of Scat at Easterfest!

Since its humble beginings at Boonah's dusty Sonfest in 2005 the Fancy Pants Ball has been an inspiration to many. The vast unmatched displays of creative genius found in so many cutting-edge stylistic outifts together at one place, has stirred the imaginations of fashion designers around the world.

As an extra special send-off for this much-loved phenominan of spiffy apparell, Scat plans to add an extra ellement to the event. This year we will see the Fancy Pants Ball brought to a new exciting level in cheese and shenanigans!
Prepare for the Fancy Pants Ball GAME SHOW!!

Mainstage Collective Song for Toowoomba flood relief.
Scat has hooked up with some of Easterfest's favourite mainstage acts to record a charity single benefiting victims of the devistating Toowoomba floods. Pulled together by our mates Justin Michael and Jared Haschek from Compliments Of Gus, the song "Toowoomba Sun" features Craig from Scat, as well as Paul Colman, Henry Seeley (Planetshakers), Steve Grace, Roma Waterman and others!
It's a song about the sunshine, and the good things we have all come to love about Toowoomba.
All proceeds from the single, available on iTunes and all digital platforms, will benefit relief efforts in Toowoomba and surrounding areas.
